To me, photography isn't about the ideal, or the most sculpted, or the most "Picture Perfect" moment but rather, about revealing the personality of the subject. Whether a human, a pair of pants, or a cat, every subject has a story to tell and my goal as a photographer is to capture the story and have the viewer see a complete moment, not just a pretty picture.
My life in photography started with my father and his old 35mm Olympus. While backpacking, he taught me the fundamentals of shutter and aperture on the wonderful wilderness and wildlife around us. After that, I became fascinated with capturing moments: individuals making art, music, or theater, or capturing people simply enjoying each other's company. I'm simply searching out the subtle beauty.
